USAF Space Weapons: Theory and Recent Practice (w/ Poll)

Thu Sep 22, 2005 at 04:28:45 PM PDT

An article in the Washington Times describes the USAF Space Command's plan for its future presence in space. It mentions that the U.S. has already launched an electronic warfare "unit." The director of Space Command denies that more physical anti-satellite methods are in the works, but says Russia has already deployed both anti-satellite weapons and EW satellites and China is rapidly developing both.

USAF wants to build Death Star

Thu May 19, 2005 at 11:35:52 PM PDT

From the Gray Lady: The U.S. Air Force wants explicit permission from Bush to deploy space-based weapons. The U.S. has already withdrawn from the ABM Treaty, so no law currently prevents the military from launching space-based weapons. A more specific, and presumably permissive, presidential directive is expected "within weeks."

Bad Idea. More under the break.

I'm convinced they completely ignore email and snail mail is too slow. Tell them if you're a constituent, that you always vote, and you volunteer. Know the name of the bill or matter. Here's the numbers, bad guys first:

Senator Arlen Specter (R-PA)
